Amazing talents from Arrow Ministry

The first guy with the electric guitar? That’s my bro Edwin. He’s an amazing musician, called to be a glory to Jesus with anointed music. That was from our last combined session of Arrow, the youth ministry of New Creation Church. Cool stuff eh? Farinelli was mixing this performance that day by the way.

That day’s service was awesome, and I believe it has set me free once more. Praise the Lord…

Tech65: The journey so far

It’s been a year since the new Tech65 began, and I have to say that it’s been growing at an accelerated pace. I’m really happy with it even though we may not be something big, or may not have hundreds of people watching or listening to our shows. If only you knew how we got to where we are today, you’ll know that we have absolutely no credit in this. Tech65 is really a work of God.

When I was back in Tech-whizz, I lacked many things. The most important thing I lacked then was probably the revelation of Jesus Christ and His finished work. Without that revelation, I always felt that I had to work hard for things to work. It wasn’t so bad though, because ever since I was 12, I have been growing up with “The Secret” thanks to my dad’s job. The guy I worked with felt that way even more strongly about working hard. He even wrote to ComputerTimes (the then digital life) and got them to interview us. Talk about thick skin. He was also very money minded. To him, Tech-whizz was a business opportunity, not a work of passion. Needless to say, by 2004, Tech-whizz faded away into the dark corners of the interwebs, soon eaten up by the vultures of the webs, the domain squatters.

More of my iMac. The unboxing vid

[googlevideo=http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1282847299065953559]
I know I’ve talked about my iMac a little too much already, but just to let you know, the unboxing video is up on Channel 65. So go check it out! To tell you the truth, the excitement wears off after a while because it is after all just a pretty mac. I’m taking a while getting used to the giant screen though, since my previous computer is only 10 inches compared to this 20 inch monitor. The screen is a lot brighter too, so I’m adjusting to that as well. Colour on the display is really beautiful too. If you have any questions regarding the new iMac, just comment here and I’ll try to answer them.

My iMac made me tidy my room

It’s really funny how I kept procrastinating when it comes to tidying up my table all these years (I mean, I do move the mess around some times to make it seem tidy, but that doesn’t count). Then all of a sudden, this iMac comes along, and I realise that my table’s mess might actually damage my iMac’s “image”, and I end up tidying the whole table. Like actually clear everything, throw stuff away etc.

My messy room
Before the iMac came. There’s actually more junk under the table.

Tidying up my table
Tidying up my room. You can see that all the mess has moved from my table to the floor.

My table after
My table finally cleaned, after several years. All the junk has been thrown away, and the under of my table is actually empty now.

So here’s another reason to get a new iMac. It makes you tidy up your room.

My next mobile computer – The HTC Shift

Now that I’ve settled my desktop (I just got my brand new iMac last night), it’s time to think about my next mobile computer for university use (I’ve got 2 years to save up). Guess what, I found it: the HTC Shift. It’s a UMPC and PocketPC in one!

HTC Shift

This has got to be the most beautiful mobile computer I’ve seen, and is definitely worthy of becoming my Tablet PC’s successor. This machine can actually run Windows Vista AND Pocket PC at the same time! It has all the wireless tech I need, including HSDPA, and a great keyboard too. It’s gonna be available for US$1499 (not too bad a price too).

I’m gonna be talking about this on the next episode of 65 bits this Saturday at 9am at Geek Terminal. In the meantime, anyone wanna sponsor me? :D

My new iMac has just arrived!!

Guess what? My new iMac just arrived! I just made an unbox video, and I’m gonna be uploading it pretty soon. Keep checking this blog and Tech65.org for more! (I’m so not gonna sleep tonight)

What if you were a pokemon?

This is a hilarious comic I came across over at VG Cats today. What if your life works just like a pokemon in the game?

“Leo wants to learn ‘Poop’, but can’t learn more than 4 moves.”

True geeks stay up for Apple keynotes

It’s that time again. In a few hours, Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Inc. Is gonna launch a whole bunch of products that will blow us a way for at least a month or so. And what does a geek national serviceman (currently in my bunk with my Nokia E61) do? Stay up of course! I can totally see Mandy rolling her eyes and go “geek…” :P

Is Singnet reading my blog?

Ok, this is pretty wierd. I gave up with my snail-speed upload speeds and did the last thing I could think of doing, that is to reboot my router. I did a speed test again, and now my upload speed is back! Funny huh… Maybe that’s what I’ll do next time. Blog about it then restart my router… :P

Singnet, you have got to be kidding me…

My upload speed is now a super-fast 4kbps! I have no idea what is up with SingNet. My download speed seems to be “as advertised”, 3mbps. But the upload speed is ridiculous. If you’re wondering why Episode 32 of 65 bits is not up yet, or why episode 1 of Channel 65 is not up, here’s the answer. *sigh*
